도시와 자연은 별개의 것으로 인식되고는 하지만 도시는 거대한 지구 안에 속한 존재로서 자연의 흐름에 동참하며 시시각각 변화하고 있다. 그 변화에는 가시적인 것들도 있지만 내면적 변화 또한 존재한다. 그곳을 거쳐간 수 많은 이들의 보이지 않는 사연들이 쌓이고 쌓여 도시의 내면적 이미지는 끊임없이 팽창하며 시간의 물살을 탄다. 도시에도 사람의 영혼과 같은 내적이며 영원한 공간이 존재하지 않으리라는 법은 없다. 개인의 일거수일투족이 그 정신과 영혼에 빠짐없이 기록되듯, 하루에도 수 없이 움직이고 반짝이고 변화하는 도시의 사건부도 도시의 내면에 기록되고 있을 것이다. 꿈을 꾸거나 과거의 일을 생각할 때 고정된 비율의 비디오 화면처럼 보이지는 않듯이 내적 도시 또한 그 자신 그대로의 모습보다는 그것의 총체적인 움직임을 상징화한 형태로 나타날 것이다. 그러하기에 작품 속 도시들은 꽃으로 피어나기도 하고 물고기가 되어 헤엄치기도 한다. 내가 표현하고자 하는 도시의 내면적 이미지들은 각각 생명력과 개성을 지닌 개인의 모습이기도 하다. 색채의 향연으로 이루어진 반추상적 이미지들은 모두가 지향하는 완전의 정점, 천국에 닿고자 하는 멈추지 않는 열망이다. 차원을 넘어야만 닿을 수 있다는 무결점의 공간인 천국은 그 어떤 예술적 방법으로도 그대로 구현하기 어려운 대상이다. 결국 도시도 나도 시간의 구속에서 풀려날 그때까지는 그곳의 모습을 닮기 위한 항해의 여정 중에 놓여있는 것이다. 천국의 어느 도시를 향한 항해는 파도를 넘고 성운을 지나며 물리적 공간의 한계를 허문다.

The city and the nature are often recognized relatively. However, the city is constantly changing within the flow of nature, as a part of the huge earth.  We mostly recognize physical changes, however there are internal changes underneath them. The unseen inner image of the city rides the currents of time while it expands constantly with stories of people who passed through the place. The internal and permanent space of the city, such as the soul of man may exist. The countless happenings of the city that move, shine, change each day would be recorded in the internal city like the records of individual are stored in his/her mind and soul. When we dream or think of the past, it is not shown as a fixed percentage of the video film. Likewise, the internal city will be appear as symbolized form rather than own external state itself. For this reason, the city in my artworks blooms as a flower and sometimes swims around became a fish. The semi-abstract images made up feast of colour are never ending desire to reach to the Heaven; the culmination of perfection everyone wants to reach. The heaven, the flawless space where has known that only can be reached beyond dimension is a difficult object to materialize with any of artistic method in the world. Consequently, the city and I are in a voyage to resemble the status of heaven until the day we are set free from the shackles of time. The voyage to the city of heaven breaks down the limitation of physical space passing through the waves and nebulas.
